I've been 'untin' with the 'ounds at Rochdale.
Ee, by gum, we've got a lovely pack
Whippets and Alsatians
Bulldogs an' Dalmatians
Horses with two legs in front an' two more at the back.
Off we went an' make a fine display.
Auntie took a fence an' took it with 'er all the way.

With the Rochdale hounds at the Rochdale hunt, tallyho, tallyho!
In hunting dress instead of clogs and shawls,
Jumping over fences an' the backyard walls,
Tantivy, tantivy, tantivy, away, away!
Away we went with leaps an' bounds.

Young Maggie Higgins was known around our neighbourhood
She had a nasty fall but shes' a sauvy piece of goods
It isn't the first time Maggie has fallen when she's been in the woods
Following the Rochdale hounds

With the Rochdale hounds at the Rochdale hunt, tallyho, tallyho!
In hunting dress instead of clogs and shawls,
Jumping over fences an' the backyard walls,
Tantivy, tantivy, tantivy, away, away!
Away we went with leaps an' bounds.

Father's 'orse flew round the town, an' you would 'ardly think
It flew right through the Rose an' Crown an' out in 'alf a wink.
'Twas the first time pa's been in a pub an' come out without a drink.
Followin' the Rochdale 'ounds!
